Unfortunately, we scheduled our vacation months before I found out the date for this year's Beat The Clock Walk
in Washington DC, so I will be unable to do it. I participated in the walk in 2007 and 2008, and helped raise funds to promote awareness and education for HPV and cervical cancer. I'm really sad I won't be able to make it for their third event, as it has become an important tradition for me.
I am hoping that some of YOU
may be able to make it! This year's Beat The Clock Walk
is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th, at 8:00am at the Nationals Park (1500 South Capitol Street SE). Registration is FREE this year. However, they do ask you to pledge to bring at least TWO women with you, a woman who has had her HPV screenings or has been vaccinated against HPV and a woman who has not.
The Beat The Clock Walk
will help raise funds for programs to increase awareness, education and research for cervical cancer/HPV. Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable diseases, with early detection and treatment. With your help, we can all make sure that there will always be one less woman affected by cervical cancer.
